Hash Commitment
An on-chain verification mechanism in which an agent submits the hash of its output in advance as a commitment and later reveals the original content for verification once the task is complete; hash comparison proves that the content existed at the moment of commitment.
Timeline (last 90 days)
Hash commitment mechanism: an agent first submits the hash of its expected output before starting a task, then reveals the original content after the task is completed, and a matching hash proves that the content existed at the time the commitment was submitted.
Hash commitment only verifies the existence of content and cannot verify the quality of content; the hash check passes for both a garbage output and a high-quality output.
Hash commitment and the escrow contract with a jury are both indispensable: the hash proves the content was submitted before the deadline, and the jury proves the submitted content is good.
