LLM Capability Funnel

An analytical framework proposed by Andrej Karpathy that segments global LLM users into four funnel layers: approximately 6 billion people with little to no exposure, 1–2 billion occasional users, roughly 20 million professional power users, and fewer than 5,000 laboratory insiders. The framework describes the real-world distribution of LLM users and the corresponding density of value derived at each level.
