Instructed Retrieval

A retrieval paradigm in which the retriever understands and follows natural language instructions. By incorporating semantic intent into the retrieval process, retrieval behavior can be dynamically adjusted to meet task-specific requirements, distinguishing it from traditional keyword or vector similarity matching.
