AI Career Compass
An open-source, localized AI career planning platform built on local Ollama models and a rule-matching engine. It provides students with personalized career recommendations, skill gap analysis, and weekly learning roadmap generation services.
Timeline (last 90 days)
AI Career Compass is an open-source project that uses a local Ollama language model for inference rather than calling cloud AI services, in order to protect students' private data.
The input dimensions of AI Career Compass include five aspects: educational background and current degree, personal interests and technical field preferences, existing technical and non-technical skills, target career path and long-term planning, and learning priorities and progress records.
AI Career Compass adopts a hybrid architecture: the rule engine is responsible for comparing the student profile with structured career requirements and making decisions, while the AI is responsible for explaining the matching results in natural language.
The job directions covered by AI Career Compass include AI/ML engineer, data analyst, Python developer, full-stack web developer, software engineer, cybersecurity analyst and cloud engineer, among others.
The learning roadmap feature converts career requirements into a learning roadmap organized by week, with each cycle containing learning objectives, technical concepts, practice activities, resource suggestions, small implementation tasks and phased milestones.
AI Career Compass is currently still at the concept and early stage, and the full implementation of its features and actual effectiveness still need community verification.
