Answer Relevance
One of the RAG evaluation metrics. It measures how relevant the generated answer is to the user's original question and is part of the RAGAS evaluation triad framework.

An answer can be entirely faithful to a wrong source document (faithful but wrong), so faithfulness must be paired with context relevance and answer relevance rather than used as a single headline KPI.
Recall@k and MRR are commonly used to evaluate retrieval quality, while evaluating generation typically looks at the consistency between answers and sources, i.e., faithfulness.
