BlueVetaUpright
A dedicated product image rotation detection model developed by the BlueVeta team, combining a four-quadrant classifier, a fine tilt-angle model, and an arbitration layer to automatically correct the orientation of product photos.
Timeline (last 90 days)
BlueVetaUpright achieved 91.1% accuracy on a four-quadrant rotation detection task with 400 real product photos, while ChatGPT achieved 75.9%, a gap of 15.2 percentage points (95% confidence interval [+10.4, +20.0], Bootstrap resampling 10000 times clustered by source photo).
The experiment used 400 real product photos, split into two independent batches of 200 each, with no shared source photos between the two batches, to rule out the risk of data leakage.
BlueVetaUpright achieved 88.2% and 94.0% accuracy in the two test batches respectively, while ChatGPT achieved 82.1% and 69.9% respectively.
BlueVetaUpright's architecture combines a four-quadrant classifier, an independent subtle tilt angle model, and an arbitration layer to coordinate the outputs of the two.
Specialized vision models still have a clear advantage over general-purpose multimodal models on rotation detection tasks, but when using consumer chat interfaces for AI capability comparisons, model version drift is a disturbance factor that cannot be ignored.
