hierarchical path injection
A technique that concatenates a document's title and hierarchical path onto a chunk before embedding, so that each chunk of text carries its own contextual coordinates and the problem of semantic collapse is addressed.
Timeline (last 90 days)
Concatenating the document heading path (e.g. "Pricing Policy > Basic Plan > Refunds") in front of the chunk body before embedding gives each chunk of text its own retrievable contextual coordinates
A hierarchical path prefix dilutes the weight of the body text and slightly lengthens the sequence, so the path should not be too deep; generally the most recent two or three levels are kept
