CDN Cache
A caching mechanism provided by content delivery networks that stores complete HTTP responses, keyed by URL plus request headers. On a cache hit the response is returned directly without passing through the application server, forming a layered division of labor with data caching.
Timeline (last 90 days)
CDN cache stores complete HTTP responses, with keys usually being the URL plus request headers; on a hit the entire response is returned directly without involving the application server; Data Cache stores intermediate data produced during application rendering and has no direct control over the final HTML.
The merged Runtime Cache does not replace CDN cache: the former handles data reuse, the latter handles response reuse.
