Keeping the FAQ text visible on the page consistent with the FAQ schema content wins higher trust from AI engines; using schema alone or laying out text alone is less effective than the combination
If the schema claims there is an FAQ while the corresponding text is not visible on the page, it will be seen by AI engines as markup fraud, which not only fails to improve citation rates but may also reduce the credibility of the entire site
FAQ schema (FAQPage markup) annotates the question-and-answer content on a page as structured data, wrapping each question in the Question type and each answer in the Answer type, so that answer engines can extract independently citable answers without understanding the context of the whole page.
Google has restricted the display of FAQ rich results in regular search, but structured data is still effective for AI summaries and answer engine crawling.
