Financial Crime Agent
A hackathon project that combines a graph database with an AI agent for anti-money-laundering investigation, identifying criminal groups along money flows and device-sharing relationships and drafting suspicious activity reports.
Timeline (last 90 days)
Financial Crime Agent is a hackathon project that uses a graph database and AI agents to track down money-laundering rings.
The AI agent in Financial Crime Agent is designed so that after a suspicious account triggers an alert, it traverses the graph along fund flows and shared attributes, discovers that five accounts are bound to the same hardware ID, highlights the ring, and drafts a FinCEN SAR.
Every step in the agent's reasoning timeline must point to real nodes and edges in the graph, and users can click to view the proving query results, in order to constrain large-model hallucinations.
The agent does not find anyone guilty; submitting a SAR must be finally signed off by a trained, accountable compliance officer, because the act of submission itself creates legal liability.
The project's future plans include streaming transaction processing, entity resolution across phone numbers/addresses/IPs/beneficial owners, ranking suspicious clusters with graph algorithms such as community detection, and formal case management with audit logs and multiple reviewers.
