Hermes's OpenTelemetry plugin collects only metadata by default and provides parameter controls to govern which additional information is collected, in order to protect privacy.
The standard semantic conventions for GenAI are insufficient to describe the complete lifecycle of an agent, so the Hermes team supplemented them with additional proprietary fields on top of the standard.
Hermes's plugin incorporates an independent SPAN validation mechanism for determining whether an agent's actions are authorized and whether they are out of bounds.
