HyMLRaman
A hybrid machine-learning Raman spectroscopy identification framework that converts one-dimensional Raman spectra into images, extracts features using an EfficientNet-B3 deep encoder, and performs drug compound identification with classical classifiers such as SVM. It also integrates DDPM-based generative augmentation to address small-sample challenges.
Timeline (last 90 days)
HyMLRaman is a Raman spectroscopy drug residue identification framework combining deep feature extraction, generative models, and classical machine learning classifiers.
The HyMLRaman framework converts one-dimensional Raman spectra into spectral images, which are then encoded by a deep neural network backbone.
The study found that EfficientNet-B3 can extract the most effective feature representations, generating embedding vectors of 1536 dimensions.
HyMLRaman feeds deep embedding features into classical machine learning classifiers including SVM, KNN, logistic regression, random forest, XGBoost, and ANN, and uses stratified 10-fold cross-validation for evaluation.
The study conducted identification tests on six pharmaceutical compounds: amoxicillin, chloramphenicol, ciprofloxacin, tetracycline, ibuprofen, and acetaminophen.
HyMLRaman introduces generative feature augmentation based on DDPM (Denoising Diffusion Probabilistic Model), generating synthetic features in the PCA-reduced EfficientNet-B3 latent space.
The research team built an application-level Raman Pharmaceutical Analyzer, embedding the trained model into an interactive Raman analysis workflow.
The study currently covers only six pharmaceutical compounds, the DDPM augmentation effect remains unstable, and large-scale multi-class real-world deployment is still some distance away.
