IP Reputation
A scoring mechanism that assesses the risk of a login request based on historical behavior data associated with an IP address, such as attack records, anonymous proxies, and blacklist entries.
Timeline (last 90 days)
IP reputation assigns a reputation score based on an IP's historical behavioral data (such as whether it has launched attacks, whether it belongs to an anonymous proxy, and whether it is on a blacklist).
Attackers may use residential proxies or compromised devices for password spraying; these IPs have higher reputation, so IP reputation is not absolutely reliable and must be judged in combination with other signals.
IP reputation databases flag IP ranges belonging to cloud providers as high-risk, placing agents running on mainstream cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP at a disadvantage from the moment a connection is established.
IP addresses of new mail servers often lack a sending history and can easily be flagged as suspicious sources by major email providers such as Gmail and Outlook.
