IronDict
A key transparency scheme that builds a transparent dictionary based on polynomial commitments, achieving efficient consistency proofs through index maps, value maps, and a randomized consistency mechanism, defending against ghost key attacks.
Timeline (last 90 days)
Aegon is a self-auditable key transparency system, a successor to IronDict, proposed by the team of University of Cambridge researcher Hossein Hafezi.
IronDict uses polynomial commitments to build a transparent dictionary; the values of a multilinear polynomial on the Boolean hypercube uniquely determine that polynomial, and after committing with a PCS one can open a Boolean point to prove the value at a certain position.
IronDict's consistency proof relies on a "randomized consistency mechanism": the difference vector between adjacent epochs is multiplied by a random challenge and then accumulated, and since the server must commit the update before learning the challenge, it can defend against "ghost key" attacks.
