Line Coverage
The most common code coverage metric, measuring the proportion of source code lines executed during testing relative to total lines. It only demonstrates that code was executed, not that its logic was verified.

Branch coverage and line coverage are complementary: line coverage only records whether a line was executed, while branch coverage also records whether each branch of a conditional statement was taken.
Mutation testing is stricter than line coverage but has higher computational overhead, because each mutant requires running the tests again.
