Model-as-API

A model in which a platform packages AI models as standardized inference interfaces offered as a service. Developers pay according to usage volume and do not need to deploy or manage infrastructure themselves. The provider handles scaling, availability, and model updates, while consumers integrate through documented endpoints. This pattern lowers the barrier to using large models and shifts operational responsibility to the platform, at the cost of dependence on the provider's pricing and service terms.
