A mechanism that, before an AI-generated draft is published, extracts every number in it and verifies each against a fact package, permitting rounding tolerance based on how the numbers are written, to prevent the model from fabricating figures.

The number gate's tolerance is determined by how the number is written: if the draft displays two decimal places in units of billions of dollars, the allowed error is half of the last unit, scaled proportionally, for example "$46.06 billion" can match 46,061,000,000.
Number gate failure means rejection: any unsupported number is sent back to the draft rather than patched.
The numeric gate cannot determine whether a real number is attached to the wrong period, whether a sentence slides toward investment advice, or whether a quote has been distorted, so a larger model reviews the draft against a narrow list of wrong numbers, wrong periods, investment advice, and distorted quotes.
For long transcripts such as earnings call records, a low-cost model produces a summary first, but the numeric gate always runs against the original transcript, not the summary.
