Object Fidelity
A dimension for evaluating world models that measures how correctly a model predicts changes in object state under external forces or interactions, including trajectories and contact outcomes. It captures whether the model respects physical constraints such as object permanence, collision response and plausible motion, rather than producing visually smooth but physically inconsistent results.
Timeline (last 90 days)
After scaling the training data by 100 times, both agent fidelity and object fidelity improved, but object fidelity is far lower than agent fidelity and improves much more slowly.
Agent fidelity measures whether the model can accurately reproduce a person's pose, motion trajectory, and behavioral intent; object fidelity measures whether the model can correctly predict changes in an object's state under external forces or interactions.
The researchers propose a new supervision scheme that shifts model capacity from 'scene appearance' to 'object dynamics', improving object fidelity, but a significant gap still remains.
