Conventional Alignment

A research direction in AI safety that addresses current model alignment problems using existing machine learning engineering techniques, such as RLHF, supervised fine-tuning, and constitutional AI. It is contrasted with 'foundational alignment' research, which explores entirely new theoretical frameworks.
