Read-Your-Writes
A consistency session guarantee in distributed systems whereby a client's own subsequent reads after a write are guaranteed to observe that write. Standalone databases typically satisfy this naturally, but geographically distributed, multi-replica systems often require additional mechanisms to achieve it.
Timeline (last 90 days)
Read-your-writes consistency requires that after a write succeeds, the system at least guarantees that subsequent reads initiated by the same client can see that write; agentmemory's silent fallback violates this guarantee.
An Agent's verification model assumes by default that 'read-your-writes' is immediately visible, but read replica synchronization in distributed systems has inherent delay, which is the root of race conditions.
Single-machine databases usually naturally satisfy the 'read-your-writes' guarantee, but distributed systems with multiple replicas across regions often require additional mechanisms such as session tokens or primary replica routing to achieve it.
