Refmade
A desktop monitoring application that passively reads local session logs from Claude Code and Codex and visualizes the working state of multi-agent teams as a pixel office interface, helping developers observe the progress of agent collaboration.
Timeline (last 90 days)
A Korean indie developer built Refmade, a desktop application that reads local logs from Claude Code and Codex and draws the agent team as a pixel office.
The first version of Refmade launched on September 21, runs locally on Mac at 127.0.0.1:4318, provides a password-protected read-only remote view via quick tunnel, and refreshes every 5 seconds.
The first version of Refmade's data collection used a push-based model, requiring each agent to actively record its own state to a file, but agents executing long tasks often do not actively report, causing the dashboard to show empty floors.
A dashboard that relies on the observed system's self-description will fail precisely at the moment when it most needs to be accurate; any information that can be read without the agent's cooperation is more credible than what the agent actively reports.
On September 25, 2026, the developer determined that the push-based approach itself was wrong, and subsequent versions were changed to read state from the session logs already written to local disk by Claude Code and Codex.
Reading local logs directly is zero-intrusion: it does not change the Agent's behavior, does not add burden to it, and does not depend on it actively reporting; but the cost is that the log format may change with versions, the parsing logic must be maintained, and cross-platform path differences are large.
Refmade's current version on Mac is 0.3.9, and the public demo data shows three team cards, among which the customer inquiry reply team handled by Codex is marked as waiting for the user's answer.
Refmade's name comes from an earlier web design reference directory product: it ran from March to July 2026, was based on Next.js, had about 83 references and 131 commits, and integrated payments.
On August 7, 2026, while cleaning up hosting accounts, the developer cut 29 projects down to 12; the old Refmade project survived because it was bound to a custom domain, and on September 21 that domain was pointed to the new office dashboard.
Refmade currently runs on Mac (Apple Silicon) and Windows, is free to use, provided that Claude Code or Codex is already installed and logged in on the machine.
