SO-ARM 102
An open-source desktop-scale robotic arm and the second-generation product in the SO-ARM series. It uses a topology-optimized structure and PET-CF material, and is compatible with the Hugging Face LeRobot ecosystem.
Timeline (last 90 days)
SO-ARM 102 is the latest generation of open-source robotic arm products in the SO-ARM series, has officially launched, was reviewed and approved by Rob Knight, and its GitHub repository has been made public at the same time.
Compared with SO-ARM 101, SO-ARM 102 has increased payload capacity to 2.5 times.
Compared with SO-ARM 101, SO-ARM 102 has improved positioning accuracy by about 2 times.
Compared with SO-ARM 101, SO-ARM 102 has increased motion speed by about 1.6 times.
Compared with SO-ARM 101, SO-ARM 102 has increased its working range by about 36 mm of extension distance.
SO-ARM 102 adopts a topology-optimized design, and its lattice structure is a product of this process, using algorithms to find the optimal material distribution under given load conditions to reduce weight and improve stiffness.
The new gripper jaws of SO-ARM 102 maintain parallel motion throughout the entire stroke, rather than letting objects roll during closing, thereby improving positioning accuracy and stability when grasping cylindrical or irregular objects.
SO-ARM 102 officially recommends PET-CF (carbon fiber reinforced PET) for the best stiffness performance, while also confirming that PLA prints well.
SO-ARM 102 uses Feetech 3250 servos at key joints.
Compared with SO-ARM 101, SO-ARM 102 has widened the rotation angle and folding angle, making the robotic arm's range of motion more flexible.
