Tiltmeter
An open-source API change monitoring tool that learns a JSON structure baseline from real responses, detects breaking changes such as field removal and type changes, and can notify an Agent or automatically repair code through Deep Agent.
Timeline (last 90 days)
Tiltmeter is an open-source tool for monitoring changes in the JSON structure of third-party API responses and notifying agents, or even automatically fixing code, when inconsistencies are detected.
Tiltmeter learns the JSON API structure from real responses without needing a pre-written specification, and establishes a baseline based on the most recent 20 checks.
Tiltmeter reports only changes that contradict the baseline, including fields being removed, types changing, new null values appearing, and the JSON body becoming an HTML error page.
At its core, Tiltmeter is a small LangGraph graph with the flow: observe → compare → explain → persist → notify.
Tiltmeter's diff comparison portion is entirely deterministic Python code, with no LLM involved.
Tiltmeter runs an MCP server, and LangChain or LangGraph agents can call the has_drifted or get_schema methods via langchain-mcp-adapters.
The tiltmeter fix command hands drift issues to a Deep Agent, which edits code in a temporary git worktree and opens a Pull Request.
Tiltmeter uses the MIT license, runs entirely locally, and can be installed via pip install tiltmeter.
Tiltmeter's project website is https://tiltmeter.dev.
