VOLT NOMAD
A game project that uses AI-generated music. Its BGM system manages playback slots and audio files through dictionary mapping, and it serves as a case subject for game audio auditing.
Timeline (last 90 days)
In commit f074703 of the game-jam-lab repository, VOLT NOMAD's 18 BGM playback slots actually reference only 17 different audio files.
In the VOLT NOMAD audio audit, after adding the standalone victory sound effect, the number of referenced audio files is 18, while the number of files stored in the target audio directory is 19.
In VOLT NOMAD, the two BGM slots singularity and ending_world share the file arch_singularity.ogg.
In VOLT NOMAD, the old map track subterranean_hunt.ogg is still stored in the directory but is no longer referenced by the current BGM dictionary, and the current map key points to six_core_descent.mp3.
In the VOLT NOMAD music code, the EncounterBGMKeys dictionary maps encounter or form IDs to BGM keys, and the BGMStreams dictionary then maps BGM keys to audio files.
In VOLT NOMAD, Gearmaw's dedicated track uses the generic key name hunt, corresponding to the file piston_hunt_loop.ogg.
In VOLT NOMAD, the desired_bgm_key() function determines the actual BGM key value to play based on conditions such as the title screen/gallery, normal battle/boss battle, and final boss form.
VOLT NOMAD's production brief SUNO_MUSIC_BRIEF.md records each track's purpose, title, Suno song ID, selected A/B candidate version, and corresponding game file.
In VOLT NOMAD's production records, the initial Relay Hydra A version was 1 minute 54 seconds long and Grid Leech A was 2 minutes 34 seconds, and some initial candidates were eliminated for being too short and then regenerated.
After running ffprobe on the 19 audio files extracted from the VOLT NOMAD Git repository, all audio streams are 48 kHz sample rate and 2 channels.
