Workspace Generation

A mechanism in CI systems for identifying workspace allocation rounds using monotonically increasing or randomly generated identifiers. It distinguishes cases where the same directory is reused by different tasks, preventing stale leftover files from being incorrectly used by new tasks, analogous in principle to optimistic locking version numbers in databases.
