WS-Federation
An older enterprise identity federation protocol based on the WS-Security standards, used to share identity and authentication information across different security domains. It enables single sign-on and federated identity scenarios in which independently managed systems trust one another. The protocol remains in use among some enterprise and industry customers with established identity infrastructure.
