Hierarchical RAG

A variant of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture that improves retrieval precision over heterogeneous documents through a multi-level, coarse-to-fine retrieval strategy. Drawing on the coarse-ranking and fine-ranking paradigm from information retrieval, it progressively narrows results at the document, paragraph, and sentence levels.
