Antimicrobial Resistance

The phenomenon in which pathogenic microorganisms survive and reproduce after exposure to antimicrobial drugs, rendering the drugs ineffective. Causes include drug misuse and genetic mutation, and the WHO lists it among the ten major global public health threats.
