Basecase
A snap-on Switch 2 protective case released by Mechanism, compatible with its modular mount ecosystem and supporting various mounting methods such as desktop, bedside, and car.
Timeline (last 90 days)
Mechanism launched its first Switch 2 protective case, Basecase, priced at 49 dollars, featuring a snap-on shell design.
Basecase is compatible with Mechanism's existing modular mount accessory lineup, and can be used with desktop stands, bedside clamps, car mounts, and more.
Basecase's 49-dollar pricing is significantly higher than ordinary TPU cases (usually 10-20 dollars), and its premium mainly comes from the mold-making precision of the modular snap-on structure, structural strength testing, and compatibility verification with stand accessories.
The original author's assessment of Basecase is "as awesome as I hoped it would be," indicating that the actual experience met expectations.
Basecase suits users who already own Mechanism's stand ecosystem and players who frequently need to prop up their Switch 2 to play, but it is not suitable for users who only want basic protection.
