Cloud Connector
A connection component deployed in the cloud that bridges local systems and cloud services, supporting cross-system data synchronization and integration. It is often used together with MCP servers.
Timeline (last 90 days)
In principal propagation mode, the user logs in to the MCP client via SAP Cloud Identity Services; the JWT token reaches Integration Suite, Cloud Connector issues a short-lived X.509 certificate for that user, and S/4HANA maps it to the real SAP user via certificate rules.
When using BTP's Cloud Connector in production, the original author found that it requires separate high-availability configuration, monitoring, certificate management, and upgrade cycles, and adds diagnostic complexity.
