Content-Defined Chunking
Content-Defined Chunking (CDC) is a file segmentation technique that determines cut points by computing local hash values over a sliding window, rather than using fixed positional offsets. Because cut points are determined by file content itself, unmodified regions consistently produce identical chunk fingerprints, enabling efficient incremental storage and minimizing redundant data transfers.
