Control Plane
A concept in cloud-native and network architecture responsible for managing and controlling the configuration, scheduling and policy distribution of an entire system, as opposed to the data plane. In the Databricks context, the control plane manages access to resources within the customer's VPC.

If automatically recommended configuration improvements are pushed directly without team discussion, they may introduce new inconsistencies, requiring a balance between automation and human review
Tetriz Harness consists of two complementary modules: Harness Recommendations (diagnosis) and Control Plane (distribution)
Control Plane syncs the fixes identified by Recommendations to all team members, taking on the responsibilities of version control, change auditing, and rollback
Control Plane was previously essentially absent in the field of AI coding tools, and most teams could only sync configurations through verbal agreements or documents
In Databricks, the control plane is responsible for the UI, API, job scheduling, metadata management, and so on, and typically runs in a Databricks-managed account.
The control plane is responsible for managing, configuring, and coordinating the behavior of the data plane, deciding what should be done rather than executing directly.
The control plane concept is borrowed from network engineering's SDN and is responsible for decision-making without executing specific tasks, decoupling governance logic from execution logic.
Control Plane is a core concept in infrastructure such as Kubernetes, responsible for scheduling, managing, and monitoring system operational status.
