Google Public DNS
A free public DNS resolution service provided by Google, known for its speed and stability.
Timeline (last 90 days)
Most users use the DNS provided by their network operator by default, but public DNS services (such as Quad9, Google Public DNS and Cloudflare 1.1.1.1) allow users to configure manually for faster resolution, higher security or stronger privacy protection.
Quad9's exit means French users need to find alternatives; common public DNS options include Google Public DNS, Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 and AdGuard DNS.
Quad9's DNS server address is 9.9.9.9 (IPv6: 2620:fe::fe), Google Public DNS is 8.8.8.8, Cloudflare is 1.1.1.1, and OpenDNS is 208.67.222.222.
