Landsat
The Landsat satellite series is operated by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and represents the longest continuous Earth observation satellite program, with archived data dating back to 1972. It provides multispectral imagery at 30-meter resolution, and the data are freely available to the public.

The uGAP platform offers three data access methods: direct download; drawing a bounding box on a map for spatially clipped download; and filtering Sentinel, MODIS, and Landsat imagery by time window and cloud cover through an integrated search-and-archive function.
TorchGeo is the official extension library for geospatial data in the PyTorch ecosystem, providing Dataset, Sampler, transforms, and pretrained models, with built-in support for reading multi-source satellite imagery such as Sentinel-2, Landsat, and NAIP.
Among uGAP's 120 datasets, the vast majority come from international satellites such as Landsat, Sentinel, and MODIS, and there is as yet no African indigenous satellite data.
The United States launched its first Landsat satellite in 1972.
