Memory Expiration

A category of failure in AI agent persistent memory systems where the agent retrieves and acts upon outdated or invalidated factual data from historical memory during decision-making. Because no error is raised when stale data is accessed, the issue is difficult to detect. It occurs most commonly in memory storage solutions built on vector databases.
