Omni-Modal Model
A model capable of uniformly processing text, images, audio, video and other perceptual signals within a single architecture, and supporting arbitrary combinations of cross-modal inputs and outputs. Compared with multimodal models that support only images and text, it must address more complex inter-modal temporal alignment and unified representation problems.
Timeline (last 90 days)
The key to judging whether a model is truly omnimodal is whether it can directly perceive audio melody or video temporal order, rather than merely transcribing audio into text.
Existing omni-modal models may generally suffer from a similar "attention-output misalignment" problem, and TACG may generalize to a broader family of models.
Future improvements to omni-modal models should not focus only on improving single-frame perception accuracy, but also need to strengthen long-horizon temporal reasoning and cross-modal consistency maintenance capabilities.
Full-modal models have strong voice capabilities but weak agent capabilities, while top reasoning models have strong agent capabilities but do not support voice, creating a dilemma between the two.
