pi-mcp-adapter
pi-mcp-adapter is an MCP protocol adapter within the Pi Framework ecosystem. It allows developers to integrate MCP servers into the Pi Framework in a lightweight manner by reading a .mcp.json configuration file to automatically discover and register external tools.
Timeline (last 90 days)
Developers in the Pi community have already implemented the pi-mcp-adapter, an adapter used to integrate the MCP protocol into Pi.
pi-mcp-adapter reads the .mcp.json configuration file, whose structure follows the standard MCP server format.
It is recommended to integrate pi-mcp-adapter via the extension factory method, because it can explicitly inject the configuration path during the initialization phase and avoid priority ambiguity caused by the ordering of configuration files.
Before returning the agent session, run extension must be manually called to forcibly trigger the session start event; otherwise, pi-mcp-adapter will not initialize the MCP server and will report an 'MCP server not initialized' error.
