Roofline Model
A performance analysis model proposed by researchers at Berkeley. By relating arithmetic intensity to a hardware's peak compute and memory bandwidth, it determines whether a kernel is compute-bound or memory-bandwidth-bound. It is widely used in GPU kernel optimization.

The Roofline model relates a kernel's arithmetic intensity (floating-point operations per byte of data) to the hardware's memory bandwidth and peak compute, and is used to determine whether to prioritize optimizing memory access or compute logic.
