SAML Assertion

A SAML assertion is an XML-format security token issued by an enterprise Identity Provider (IdP), digitally signed with the IdP's private key. It carries user identity attributes and organizational information and serves as the core data structure in the SAML protocol for implementing single sign-on and identity federation.
