The Innovator's Dilemma
A management theory proposed by Clayton Christensen in 1997, describing the phenomenon whereby market leaders, by focusing too heavily on serving existing mainstream customers, fail to invest in disruptive innovations and are ultimately displaced by more agile entrants. The theory explains why established organizations are structurally disadvantaged when responding to lower-end or emerging market disruptions.
