VaultLedger
An offline invoice reconciliation tool built on local Ollama models. It extracts information from invoice PDFs and bank CSV files and performs automatic matching, then outputs Excel audit reports. It is intended for financial auditing in environments without network access.
Timeline (last 90 days)
VaultLedger is a prototype tool that, based on local Ollama models, completes automatic reconciliation of invoices and bank statements in a fully offline environment and outputs an Excel audit report.
VaultLedger outputs three types of flags: duplicate invoices, invoices with no corresponding bank debit, and bank debits with no invoice.
On the author's sample files, the entire audit takes about one and a half to two minutes on a laptop.
The author set the temperature to 0.0 and, together with Ollama's native structured output API, extracted fields such as vendor_name, invoice_number, invoice_date, subtotal, tax_amount, total_amount, currency and category from invoices.
The current version only reads PDFs with a text layer; closed-source vision models perform better at handling scanned documents and handwritten invoices.
