Walter Kohn
Walter Kohn is a theoretical physicist who received the 1998 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his contributions to density functional theory. Together with Pierre Hohenberg, he proposed the Hohenberg-Kohn theorem.

The Hohenberg-Kohn theorems were proposed by Pierre Hohenberg and Walter Kohn in 1964 and contain two core conclusions: the ground-state electron density uniquely determines the external potential; and there exists a universal energy functional whose minimum corresponds to the ground-state energy.
