Web Worker
A background thread mechanism provided by browsers, used to move heavy tasks off the main thread to prevent the page from freezing. It is commonly used for model inference and streaming token delivery.

Attackers could bypass Anthropic's first patch, which only restricted fetch() and XMLHttpRequest in the main page, by moving fetch() into a Web Worker created from a blob: URL.
Common approaches to implementing a sandbox in in-conversation tool generation scenarios include: using an iframe with the sandbox attribute for isolated rendering, restricting thread capabilities through Web Workers, adopting a restricted component DSL rather than full JavaScript, and performing static auditing and whitelist validation on the server side.
The browser-side RAG process consists of four steps: retrieval, gating, prompt construction, and generation; for generation it prefers WebGPU, and falls back to WASM running on the CPU if unsupported.
transformers.js 4.3.1 loads the model in a Web Worker and returns embedding vectors, avoiding blocking the main thread.
The conversion process takes place in the browser's Web Worker thread and an in-memory virtual file system; the input file is read via the File API, processed to generate a Blob object for download, and the conversion function continues to work normally even after going offline once the page has finished loading.
The OffscreenCanvas API allows Canvas drawing to be performed in a Web Worker, avoiding main thread blocking.
After migrating computationally intensive operations such as syntax highlighting and Markdown parsing to Web Workers, the main thread can still maintain 60fps even when processing large blocks of code
Web Workers allow JavaScript to run in a background independent thread, communicating with the main thread via postMessage without sharing memory
Web Worker可将TLE解析和SGP4计算从主线程剥离,避免阻塞UI渲染
