Trigger
An event in workflow automation that starts a workflow. Triggers fall into event triggers, such as receiving a new email or a form submission, time-based triggers, such as scheduled runs, and manual triggers, in which a user clicks a button to execute the workflow.

A Trigger is the event that triggers a Workflow to begin execution; without a Trigger, the Workflow will not run automatically.
Triggers in automation platforms are usually divided into three categories: event triggers (such as receiving a new email, a form submission, or a new record in a database), time triggers (such as running on a daily schedule), and manual triggers (execution by a user clicking a button).
A Workflow usually has only one main Trigger, but different trigger situations can be handled through conditional branch nodes.
n8n executes by default in the order of connections between nodes, starting from the Trigger node; a Node typically waits for the preceding Node to complete and output results before starting.
A trigger is the starting point that initiates a workflow, and the main types include manual trigger, app event trigger, scheduled trigger, webhook trigger, form submission trigger, and chat message trigger.
A trigger is the starting point of a workflow and determines under what conditions the automation begins running.
