Vercel Services
A project-level composition abstraction in Vercel that allows multiple services, such as a frontend static site and a backend, to coexist within the same Vercel project and share preview links, environment variables and the release and rollback lifecycle.
Timeline (last 90 days)
Vercel Services allows frontends and backends to be deployed in the same project, sharing preview environments, with deployments and rollbacks remaining atomic, logs viewable per service within the project, and backends connected privately through service bindings.
Vercel Services is configured by placing a vercel.toml file in the repository root, in which the [services.*] section defines sub-applications and the [[rewrites]] section defines routing rules.
Vercel Services allows frontend and backend to be merged into the same Vercel project, and running vercel dev can start both at the same time, sharing preview links, environment variables, and the release/rollback lifecycle.
Python on Vercel supports frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, and Django, uses standard CPython and dependencies from PyPI under the hood, and Vercel handles framework detection, builds, and elastic scaling.
