SIP
A macOS security mechanism introduced in OS X El Capitan that blocks write operations to core system directories by default. The restriction applies even to processes running with root privileges, and is designed to prevent malware and accidental modifications from compromising system integrity.

The platform already operates SIP lines as a first-class delivery channel, and phone settings allow managing numbers, call history, and diagnostic information.
Through a SIP phone line, the platform allows the Agent to answer real calls from the public telephone network, letting users complete a campus visit booking by voice.
After saving, the Agent is published under a unique code and offers three delivery methods: an embeddable chat component, the ChatAssist real-time agent copilot, and a SIP phone line.
The same two-agent process can connect to both a hotel PMS and a SIP-based telephony provider at the same time; as long as each exposes an MCP interface, no changes are needed on the agent side.
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is the most widely used signaling standard in internet telephony, responsible for establishing, modifying, and terminating voice and video calls.
Technologies such as VoIP, SIP, and WebRTC have already made calling over the network commonplace; internet telephony is not a new concept.
RTP is responsible for carrying audio and video streams and reassembling them in order, RTCP is responsible for monitoring jitter, packet loss, and round-trip delay, SIP is responsible for signaling to complete the state machine management of call setup, negotiation, and hang-up, and WebRTC encapsulates these capabilities into the browser and solves NAT traversal through ICE/STUN/TURN.
If Phreak.ing wants to reproduce the semantics of 'dial—ring—connect—hang up', it is in effect rebuilding a SIP-like state machine, but what it pursues is playability and observability rather than carrier-grade stability.
Developers who want to understand such projects in depth are advised to first become familiar with the latency and jitter models of RTP/RTCP, then understand the signaling state machine of SIP or WebRTC, and finally return to Phreak.ing to observe how it re-expresses these concepts in a more lightweight way.
SIP blocks write operations to core directories such as /System and /usr by default, and this cannot be bypassed even with root privileges.
